This is certainly a decision with lots of emotion, including mixed emotion: I love the practice of law, especially our little niche of fire protection and emergency services law where we have assisted so many agencies and local governments. It has been a rich experience which I treasure greatly. But our health is good and it is time to enjoy some of the fruits of our labor, including travel with my bride and visiting our children who are spread around the country.

 

And of course, lots of projects at home and working my way through that enormous pile of books I have been accumulating…

 

We will miss all of you and the inspiring dedication you have to protecting your communities.
